Abstract
An automatic voltage regulator employing an optical feedback system, in which a luminous element, whose intensity varies in response to the variation in a regulated voltage, illuminates a photosensitive element which generates a feedback signal responsive to intensity of light. More precise voltage regulation is possible. Furthermore, a 'soft-start' circuit is provided which can arbitrarily select a rising time of a regulated voltage to a predetermined magnitude, starting always from a predetermined phase angle of the voltage.
