Covers the desisovaleryl derivative of niddamycin. Also covers a method of performing the microbial conversion of niddamycin, magnamycin A, magnamycin B, leucomycin A.sub.1 and leucomycin A.sub.3 to the corresponding desisovaleryl derivatives. These desisovaleryl derivatives are useful as antibiotics.
