Abstract
A water-insoluble polymer comprising repeating units at least 1/3 of said repeating units having the formula: ##SPC1## Wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrogen or alkyl and R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are alkyl groups wherein the total number of carbon atoms in R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 is at least 12 and X.sup.-is an anion; is useful in dye mordant compositions in photographic elements. Preferred dye mordants comprise copolymers with styrene or methyl methacrylate.
