Abstract

A method for producing ethane, ethylene and dimethyl ether compounds, said method comprising the step of passing a mixture of CO and hydrogen over platinum supported on alumina at a temperature ranging from 100.degree.C. to 400.degree.C. and a pressure ranging from 1 to 100 atmospheres.
