Abstract

A process for preparing compounds containing hydantoin groups, wherein compounds which contain isocyanate or isothiocyanate groups are reacted with compounds which contain at least one, preferably two .alpha.-halocarboxylic acid amide groups or one .alpha., .alpha.'-dihalodicarboxylic acid diamide group.
