Optionally substituted 4-oxo-1,4-dihydrocinnolin-3-ylpropionic acid derivatives, processes for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them, and a method of treatment using them. A representative compound is ethyl 6-ethyl-1-methyl-4-oxo-1,4-dihydrocinnolin-3-ylpropionate.
