Abstract

Oxygen difluoride, OF.sub.2, is reacted with ethylenically unsaturated fluorocarbon compounds. Depending upon the fluorocarbon material and reaction conditions, OF.sub.2 can chain extend fluoropolyenes, convert functional perfluorovinyl groups to acyl fluoride and/or epoxide groups and act as a monomer for an addition type copolymerization with diolefins.
