Abstract
This disclosure relates to the concept of preempting TXOPs, i.e. suspending a data exchange between communication devices during an ongoing TXOP to serve STAs with latency constraints. According to an embodiment a first communication device is provided that is configured to communicate with a second communication device. The first communication device comprises circuitry configured to perform exchange of data units with the second communication device during a current transmit opportunity, receive, before or during the current transmit opportunity, a truncation notification indicating that the ongoing exchange of data units should be suspended and that a preemptive data unit may be received from and/or transmitted to the third communication device, suspend the ongoing exchange of data units with the second communication device before the end of the transmit opportunity, and receive from and/or transmit to the third communication device the preemptive data unit within the remaining duration of the transmit opportunity.
