Abstract
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured with a random access channel (RACH) resource associated with a capability level of the UE. The capability level-specific RACH resource may overlap one or more other RACH resources. The UE may identify whether the UE is enabled to report capability information or preferences, or both, using the capability level-specific RACH resource based on how the capability level-specific RACH resource overlaps with the one or more other RACH resources.
