Abstract
This application provides a paging method and a communications apparatus. In the method, a first access network device may determine, based on grouping capability information of a first terminal device and a grouping manner supported by the first access network device for use, a first manner for paging the first terminal device. When determining the first manner, the first access network device considers the grouping capability information of the first terminal device. In this way, the determined first manner is a grouping manner supported by the first terminal device.
