Abstract
A method for selectively limiting communication bandwidth in a communication environment including at least a first wireless access point includes (1) receiving, from the first wireless access point, a first load information message, (2) determining, from the first load information message, that a data transmission bandwidth limit is needed by the first wireless access point, (3) in response to determining that the data transmission bandwidth limit is needed by the first wireless access point, generating a first data transmission bandwidth limit, and (4) sending the first data transmission bandwidth limit to the first wireless access point.
