Abstract

A method includes applying a hash function to a concatenation of first unencrypted plaintext data and a salt value to produce a hash value. The hash value is signed based on a private encryption key from a first public/private encryption key pair, to produce a first signed message that is sent to a plurality of compute devices that implement a distributed network. The method further includes receiving a second signed message that includes a concatenation of the first signed message and a third signed message sent from at least one compute device from the plurality of compute devices, the second signed message being signed based on a private encryption key from a second public/private encryption key pair associated with the distributed network, and the third signed message being generated via the at least one compute device based on second unencrypted plaintext data received at the at least one compute device.
