Abstract
An optical transmission device includes an optical circuit in which circuit groups are connected in multiple stages in a tree form, each of the circuit groups including three circuits of a two-input two-output type each having periodic transmission characteristics, the three circuits being connected in multiple stages in a tree form so that one of subsequent ports of a first circuit at a preceding stage of the three circuits is connected to one of preceding ports of a second circuit at a subsequent stage of the remaining two of the three circuits, and the other of the subsequent ports of the first circuit is connected to one of preceding ports of a third circuit at a subsequent stage of the remaining two, a modulator that is connected to one of subsequent ports of the second circuit, and a 90-degree circuit that is connected to the other of the subsequent ports.
