Abstract
Techniques are disclosed for generating realistic talking avatar videos from a prompt and a script. A computer system can implement a trained avatar model that includes a diffusion model that can generate a neural texture usable to generate each frame of a talking avatar video. The computer system can generate audio from the script. The script can include text of a narration to be synchronized with a talking avatar. The computer system can generate an avatar expression sequence using the audio. The computer system can receive a prompt characterizing an avatar appearance. Using the prompt and the audio, the computer system can generate the talking avatar video using the trained avatar model taking as inputs the avatar expression sequence and the text prompt. The talking avatar video can include the audio synchronized with a sequence of image frames generated using the neural texture.
