Abstract

A method of lubricating a transmission assembly of an axle assembly includes supplying lubricant to first and second perforated sections located at opposing ends of a lubrication tube spanning between mounting features of an axle housing. The method further includes performing one or more relative movements of a cross shaft to align the perforations of the lubrication tube with internal transmission components, thereby enabling substantially equal lubricant delivery to both ends of the tube.
