Abstract

A traveling device () includes a cylindrical spindle () that rotatably supports a wheel attaching cylinder () to which a wheel () is attached, an electric motor () attached to the spindle (), a motor shaft () that projects from the electric motor () and outputs rotation of the electric motor (), a rotation shaft () to which the rotation of the motor shaft () is transmitted, a gear reduction mechanism () that decelerates rotation of the rotation shaft () and transmits the decelerated rotation to the wheel attaching cylinder (), a lubricating oil circulation circuit () that repeatedly supplies lubricating oil (L) to the gear reduction mechanism (), and a coupling () disposed for the joint between the motor shaft () and the rotation shaft (). A lubricating oil passage () is disposed in the coupling (), and the lubricating oil passage () supplies part of the lubricating oil (L), which is supplied to the gear reduction mechanism () by using the lubricating oil circulation circuit (), to a coupling section between the motor shaft () and the coupling ().
