Abstract
A closure latch assembly for a vehicle door has a ratchet moveable between a primary striker capture position, a secondary striker capture position, and a striker release position, and a cinch mechanism moveable, while in an engaged state, from a home position, while the ratchet is in the secondary striker capture position, to a cinch position, whereat the ratchet is engaged by the cinch mechanism and moved to the primary striker capture position. A manual release mechanism operable to move the cinch mechanism from the engaged state to a disengaged state, whereat the cinch mechanism is disengaged from the ratchet such that the ratchet is free to move independently from the cinch mechanism.
