Abstract
A system including an actuator assembly including dynamic components and static components, a base spring pad approximate to a first end of the actuator assembly, and a pin housing located at a second end of the actuator assembly. Responsive to an overload event acting upon the system, a load spring of the base spring pad compresses, resulting in shifting of the dynamic components of the actuator assembly. This shifting results in a spring-loaded pin in the pin assembly dropping to engage with a pin stop, wherein engagement between the spring-loaded pin and the stationary pin stop causes lateral movement of the dynamic components of the actuator assembly to stop moving. This intentional shifting reduces the effects of the overload event upon the stationary components.
