Abstract

[Solution] A driver state estimation apparatus includes a controller estimating a state of the driver based on travel environment information and the driver's line of sight. When a condition for performing individual learning is satisfied, the controller calculates a mean μand a variance σof a feature value xfor each of a plurality of indicators of search behavior, which is changed according to the driver's state, in a predetermined time based on the travel environment information and the driver's line of sight, standardizes each of the feature values x, each of which is acquired when a condition for estimating the driver's state is satisfied, by the mean μand the variance σcalculated in advance, and uses the standardized feature values xand a preset weight coefficient afor each to calculate a first probability p representing a probability that the driver is in the first state.
