Abstract

A method and system of protecting a structure from an approaching fire by dispensing flame-retardant foam. The system works in conjunction with a set of sprinkler heads that are fluidly connected to both a water supply and a foam supply. Upon determining there is a high likelihood of a fire impacting the structure the system can automatically trigger a protective action whereby one or more sprinkler heads dispense the foam. The foam can be dispensed in different configurations, and form a perimeter around the structure, and/or coat the exterior of the structure.
