Abstract
An expanding implant that includes a lateral structure, a wedge configured to cause the lateral structure to undergo lateral movement, a captive track attached to the wedge, a pull screw that includes a captive element disposed, at least partially, within the captive track, and a pivot hinge configured to allow an implant pivot between the pull screw and the captive track, where the expanding implant is configured to undergo the implant pivot, and after the implant pivot, permit the lateral movement of the lateral structure using the pull screw.
