Abstract

A memory device according to an embodiment includes a memory device including first and second plate-shaped members, columnar members, and word lines. The plurality of columnar members are arranged in a matrix of K rows (K is an integer equal to or greater than 4) between the first and second plate-shaped members. The columnar members include memory pillars and dummy pillars. The memory pillars are arranged in multiple rows between a first row and a K-th row of the K rows. The dummy pillars are arranged in the first row and the K-th row of the K rows. A diameter of each of the dummy pillars is smaller than a diameter of each of the memory pillars at a position where a word line, among the word lines, facing both the memory pillars and the dummy pillars is included.
