Abstract
Techniques are generally described for dynamic band steering for wireless mesh networks. An example method includes receiving a request from a client device to connect to a wireless network, wherein connecting to the wireless network includes a band steering process and determining that the client device is present in a database of client devices. The example method further includes determining that the request from the client device was received within a pre-determined window of time, wherein the window of time is based on a timestamp of a last known activity of the client device and disabling, based on determining that the client device is present in the database and determining that the request was received within the pre-determined window of time, the band steering process. The example method also includes executing a wireless network connection routine based on the request.
