Abstract
A speaker system includes a fixed frame, a voice coil and a first moving mass that includes a diaphragm. The first moving mass is coupled to the fixed frame via a non-rigid primary suspension and coupled to the voice coil. The speaker system further includes a second moving mass that includes a motor assembly and is coupled to the fixed frame via a non-rigid secondary suspension. The diaphragm is configured to move in response to an audio drive signal, applied via the motor assembly, which asserts a force on the voice coil. A first force, on the motor assembly caused by applying the audio drive signal and pushing the voice coil, is canceled by a second force on the moving motor assembly from the non-rigid secondary suspension.
