Abstract
A request to archive a first video is received. In response to receiving the request to archive the first video, the first video is hashed using a hashing technique to generate a first hash value. In response to receiving the request to archive the first video, a first identifier is embedded in metadata of the first video. After receiving the request to archive the first video, (1) a second hash value generated by hashing a second video using the hashing technique and (2) a second identifier that was embedded in metadata of the second video are received from a remote compute device and without receiving the second video. A modification status of the second video is determined based on the first hash value, the second hash value, the first identifier, and the second identifier. A signal is sent to the remote compute device indicating the modification status.
