Abstract
A control scheme for starting a dual channel permanent magnet motor drive system under a one-switch short circuit (OSSC) fault on one channel in which the reference torque used for controlling the faulty channel is varied as a function of motor speed according to a certain predefined function to optimise the torque produced by the faulty channel whilst also keeping the current within the faulty channel below the current limit of the power inverter within the faulty channel.
