Abstract
A computing system connected to a video device. The computing system accesses video data to obtain a video stream of an environment and displays an image of the environment on a user interface. The computing system receives a user defined polygonal area of interest and a feature detection algorithm associated with a particular feature of interest. The computing system periodically executes the feature detection algorithm on recent images of the video stream and outputs feature coordinates in response to detection of the particular feature of interest. Based on detecting the particular feature of interest, the computing system determines whether the feature coordinates are at least partially within the polygonal area of interest and if so, initiates a notification.
