Abstract
Disclosed are systems and methods for training deep neural networks ('DNNs') to increase the detection robustness of those DNNs to adversarial attacks through the use of non-uniform perturbations of training data that consider feature characteristics of features of the training data that are used to train the DNN. Features of training data are perturbed in a non-uniform manner based at least in part on the correlations of the different features and/or the importance of those features in detection of malicious data by the DNN.
