Abstract
An address having a set of address bits is received to access a memory device having a plurality of memory channels. The set of address bits may include an atomic address that indexes to an atomic data transfer unit, and an address offset that indexes into an offset in the atomic data transfer unit. At least a part of the atomic address is provided as an input to a hash function that provides a one-to-one mapping of a unique output for each unique input. A memory index is derived based on an output of the hash function. A memory address formed by concatenating the memory index with the address offset is provided for accessing the memory device.
