Abstract
An aircraft propulsion system includes a water injection system that includes a plurality of nozzles configured to inject water onto at least one of a plurality of compressor stages and turbine stages, and a controller that is configured to operate the water injection system and a drive system to rotate the compressor and turbine section while injecting water through the plurality of nozzles for cooling a portion of one of the compressor section, the turbine section and a case structure.
