Abstract

A catheter clip can circumferentially close around a catheter and secure the catheter to a shunt valve of a shunt valve system. The catheter clip provides easier application without the need to manipulate the shunt system and risk displacement or movement of the proximal catheter. The catheter clip applies a consistent circumferential force around the catheter to ensure that the catheter is appropriately secured and eliminate the risk of human-error that comes with tying a tight and secure knot. Finally, the catheter clip is durable and lasts for the lifetime of the shunt, ensuring that the catheter is securely connected to the shunt valve and reducing risk for disconnection and shunt malfunction.
