Abstract
A high chair having right and left side mechanisms for engaging a tray to a receptacle, where each of the right and left side mechanisms have an inner portion and an outer portion. The inner portion includes a slide and the outer portion includes a ramp and a slotted tab that generate a snap when engagement with the ramp is complete. The high chair further includes a foot rest that extends between first and straight second legs, that is spaced from and independent of the tray, that receives each of the first and second legs, and that slides minimally upwardly and downwardly on the first and second straight legs by virtue of an oblique angle between axes of leg receivers integral with the foot rest. Further disclosed is a method for engaging a tray to a high chair receptacle.
