Abstract
An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) parent node that includes a first radio interface a second radio interface, processor circuitry, and transmitter circuitry is provided. The first radio interface is configured to establish an RRC connection with a donor node. The second radio interface is configured to serve a cell to communicate with a wireless terminal, such as a UE or a child IAB node. The processor circuitry is configured to detect a radio link failure (RLF) on an upstream path to the donor node, provide updated system information, such as a cell status, based on the RLF, and generate a notification message including information indicating whether the wireless terminal is to initiate an acquisition procedure to acquire the system information immediately, or after a next modification period boundary. The transmitter circuitry is configured to transmit the notification message and the updated system information to the wireless terminal.
