Abstract
A binder for a secondary battery functional layer contains a particulate polymer that includes a cyano group-containing monomer unit and a cyclic ether-containing monomer unit and that, in an infrared absorption spectrum, has a light absorbance ratio A1/A2 of 5 or more between a maximum value A1 of light absorbance in a range of not less than 880 cmand not more than 930 cmand a maximum value A2 of light absorbance in a range of not less than 2210 cmand not more than 2270 cm.
