Abstract
According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording device includes a recording medium, a magnetic head including a laser irradiation device that irradiates a laser onto a recording area of the recording medium, a recording element, and a temperature sensor that detects the temperature of the laser irradiation device, and a controller including a temperature management table storing the correspondence between the temperature of the laser irradiation device, a mode hop occurrence temperature and mode hop occurrence location at which mode hopping occurs in a laser output, which manages the write operation of the laser irradiation device and the magnetic head according to the temperature management table.
