Abstract
Described are recording heads for magnetic writing of data in a disk drive, such as a heat-assisted magnetic recording disk drive, and in particular to write pole constructions that employ a low magnetic moment material disposed around the top and sides of the write pole tip. Accordingly, a low magnetic moment wrapper may disposed around a write pole, which may function to reduce side track erasure effects by setting up a magnetization gradient at the write pole edges to thereby control the erasure field.
