Abstract
Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to an automated teller machine (ATM) having personal object scanning and appraisal capabilities, which, in some implementations, can be used for improved valuable personal property (VPP) insurance. The ATM can allow a user to place a personal object in a receptacle having scanning and sensing capabilities provided via, for example, cameras, depth sensors, scales, etc. The ATM can generate a model of the personal object based on the data generated by such scanners and/or sensors, and can apply artificial intelligence models to identify properties of the object. The ATM can further apply a machine learning model trained on known personal objects and past insurance claims to determine a value for the personal object. In some implementations, the ATM can be used in a claims process to compare an original scan of the personal object with a later scan to assess damage.
