Abstract

An improved user interface and corresponding system is described herein that displays metrics data for various computing entities and that allows a user to navigate continuously to different pages showing metrics data for these various computing entities without reaching a navigational dead end. To provide this navigational benefit, the improved user interface allows a user to navigate in at least four directions: from highest-tiered computing entity to lowest-tiered computing entity, from lowest tiered computing entity to highest-tiered computing entity, from a first instance of a computing entity running at one tier to a second instance of the computing entity running at the same tier, and from the second instance of the computing entity running at one tier to the first instance of the computing entity running at the same tier. The improved user interface may rely on query-time searching or a graph database to implement the improved navigation.
