Abstract
A multi-storage-device logical storage power management system includes a BMC device coupled to storage devices. The BMC device determines power state(s) supported by each of the storage devices and identifies each of the storage devices and each power state supported by that storage device to a user. When the user provides the BMC device a logical storage system instruction to use the storage devices to provide a logical storage system and, for each of the storage devices, a power state selection of one of the power state(s) supported by that storage device, the BMC device uses the storage devices to create the logical storage system based on the logical storage system instruction, and configures each of the storage devices to provide the logical storage system while operating in the power state that was selected via the power state selection received for that storage device.
