Abstract
An image forming apparatus includes, an image former that forms an image on a sheet; a conveyance path in which the sheet is conveyed to the image former; a sheet detector that is provided in the conveyance path and that detects a type of the sheet conveyed on the conveyance path; and a controller that performs control related to maintenance of the conveyance path based on the type of the sheet detected by the sheet detector.
