Abstract

In one embodiment, a system includes a pump light source and a Stokes light source configured to produce three or more beams of light, where the three or more beams of light have a first pump-Stokes frequency offset Ωand a second pump-Stokes frequency offset Ωdifferent from the first frequency offset. The system also includes one or more optical elements configured to direct the beams of light to a sample, where the three or more beams of light are configured to interact with a particular material in the sample via intramolecular vibrational coupling (IVC) to produce an IVC signal at an IVC frequency. The system further includes an optical receiver configured to measure the IVC signal. The optical receiver includes a probe light source, an optical detector, and an electronic circuit.
