Abstract
A resonator system for a combustor of a gas turbine system includes a cylindrical member configured to be positioned between an aft end of a fuel nozzle assembly and a forward end of a combustor liner of the combustor. Openings are defined radially through a wall of the cylindrical member adjacent the fuel nozzle assembly. A resonator mount is removably coupled in the opening(s) and includes resonator port(s) in fluid communication with a combustion chamber in the combustor liner. A Helmholtz resonator is removably coupled in the resonator port(s) of the resonator mount and in fluid communication with the combustion chamber in the combustor liner. The Helmholtz resonators can be readily installed and replaced, and they can dampen different preselected frequencies, making the system highly customizable.
