Abstract
A liner hanger includes a housing, a packer, and an outer sleeve. The packer on the housing is actuated to seal in a wellbore. The outer sleeve can move on the housing to push a slip toward the packer. A fluid port defined in the outer sleeve communicates with an internal volume. A valve at the fluid port is configured to change from a closed state to an opened state. The valve in the closed state restricts fluid communication, while the valve in the opened state permits fluid communication from the wellbore annulus to the internal volume. The valve can include a plate and a cover affixed to the outer sleeve. The plate prevents debris from collecting and can bend open to permit fluid intake into the internal volume. The valve can alternatively include a breachable barrier or a dissolvable barrier.
