A floor element including a support layer having an upper surface and a decorative layer on the upper surface, a first edge and a second edge forming a first pair of opposite sides, a third edge and a fourth edge forming a second pair of opposite sides, and coupling elements on at least the first pair of opposite sides. The coupling elements include a tongue having an upper surface and a lower surface and a groove having a base, an upper lip having a lower surface extending from the base to the second edge and a lower lip extending from the base beyond the upper lip. When two floor elements are coupled, a cavity is formed between the first edge of the support layer of one floor element and the support layer of another floor element.
