Abstract
A ferrosilicate molecular sieve of MTW framework having a d50 crystal size of 0.5 microns or less is provided. The ferrosilicate molecular sieve may be synthesized by forming a reaction mixture containing a source of iron, a source of silicon, a source of an alkali metal, a structure directing agent containing 1,3-diisobutylimidazolium cations, a source of hydroxide ions, and water; and subjecting the reaction mixture to crystallization conditions sufficient to form crystals of the ferrosilicate molecular sieve. The ferrosilicate molecular sieve may be used in organic compound conversion and absorptive processes.
