Abstract
A channel processing module (CPM) accepts digital raw samples of analog signals acquired by a phased array antenna. An oversampling channelizer oversamples by two times the raw samples and provides channel samples for each channel. One stream of channel samples may be downsampled by two times with the resulting samples processed by a beamformer algorithm to provide narrow channel beamformed samples representative of a narrow channel waveform. Two streams of channel samples may be processed using respective frequency translators that translate input samples by ±¼ the sampling frequency without multiplication, with the results being added to provide reconstructed samples that represent a wide channel waveform. The reconstructed samples may be processed by a beamformer algorithm to determine wide channel reconstructed samples. In other implementations, at least some operations may be performed after operation of the beamformer algorithms. The CPM and beamformer algorithm may be executed by a digital signal processor.
