Abstract

A computational evidence platform extracts clinical concepts from medical evidence sources and creates a knowledge graph of elemental factors, investigations and therapeutic interventions (drug and nondrug therapies) all linked to medical conditions. Condition-dependent properties are stored between medical condition nodes and these factor, investigation and therapeutic intervention nodes. The knowledge graph is queried using natural language from a user interface, API or AI agent with contextual patient data or without. A document indexer creates elemental nodes from a document and a document node and stores these in the knowledge graph. A patient state is determined by extracting factors, investigations and therapies from a patient chart. Next-best actions per condition are determined by identifying factors, investigations and therapies not yet performed. Next-best actions across conditions are determined by assuming that therapies not present are now present in a patient chart.
