Abstract
A system includes a point of sale device and a processing system to detect trigger data indicative of a transaction expected to occur within a time period. Furthermore, the processing system is configured to receive a gratuity model associated with a user associated with the transaction in response to detecting the trigger data. The gratuity model is representative of expected gratuity amounts corresponding to transaction types. Additionally, the processing system is configured to receive, from the point of sale device, transaction data including an actual gratuity amount associated with the transaction. The processing system is also configured to determine an expected gratuity amount based on the gratuity model. Further, the processing system is configured to generate an alert indicative of unexpected financial activity in response to the actual gratuity amount deviating from the expected gratuity amount by a threshold amount. The alert is presented via an electronic display.
