Abstract

Disclosed is a system and method directed to control of exterior doors for residential or commercial buildings, and more particularly to software control of a door provided with electrical power and electric and/or electronic devices mounted to the door, the door frame, or adjacent the door. The door is designed for control of electric devices integrated into or adjacent the door, with power run to and around the door, so electric devices may be easily integrated into and powered and operated from a central power controller without adversely impacting structural integrity, insulation and/or acoustic performance, energy efficiency, and aesthetics of the door.
