Abstract
An elevator communication system comprises an ethernet bus, a controller communicatively connected to the ethernet bus and configured to communicate via the ethernet bus; elevator system nodes communicatively connected to the ethernet bus and configured to communicate via the ethernet bus and each associated with a separate, respective landing; landing ethernet bus segments that are each at a separate landing and connected to a respective elevator system node that is associated with the separate landing; and a separate plurality of landing nodes at each separate landing and connected to a respective landing ethernet bus segment at the separate landing, Each elevator system node includes a connecting unit such that each elevator system node of is configured to enable communication between the ethernet bus and a separate, respective landing ethernet bus segment.
